It has been a busy and creative month at Succulent Gardens!
I was invited to collaborate on the tablescape design for James and Sarah Mackessy’s first “Supper Table Series” hosted in their new gallery lille æske in Boulder Creek. The event, Una Velada Encantada, was a 3-course pairing of classic regional Mexican dishes with craft beers and house-made sangria by Toast and Prost accompanied with live music by guitarist Joel Di Mauro.
I was designing for this event at the same time as the Guatemalan pyramid for Filoli and became excited about modernizing traditional Mesoamerican motifs and patterns, which was aligned with the aesthetic of the gallery lille æske.

I designed and commissioned the new series of rustic wood containers by Josh Ross of Ross Landscape Construction in fresh geometric shapes that we now carry in the Succulent Gardens Boutique. These are soon to be offered online as well! The triangles, pentagons and hexagons can be used like traditional garden containers, mounted as vertical gardens--alone or in groups.
