We try to continually update and enhance the information about succulents that we provide here, but there are many wonderful succulent experts that we can thank for all the wisdom that we have accumulated. Here is a list a few of our favorites sources of succulent information.
Succulent Book List
- Succulents: The Ultimate Guide to Choosing, Designing and Growing 200 Easy Care Plants by Robin Stockwell, Founder of Succulent Gardens includes an encyclopedic reference section to Robin's favorite succulents
- The newest edition of Designing with Succulents by Debra Lee Baldwin is full of practical wisdom and inspiration to provide you with the tools to design beautifully with succulents
- The lesson in succulent habitat that takes you to far off and exotic lands provided by Succulents of the World: A Comprehensive Reference to over 2000 Species by Fred Dortort
- The beautiful Plant Recipe Book by Baylor Chapman for your next succulent container arrangement
- Under the Spell of Succulents by Jeff Moore is beautiful and filled with stunning photography.
- And we love Rudolf Schulz's collection of books about succulents, such as Succulent Care and Health. Generally out of print, but if you happen upon one, they are full of good information.

“Beautiful book!” The illustrations are amazing and inspiring. I would be honored to be involved with a nursery such as Succulent Gardens, as a volunteer or otherwise. Monterey County is one of many in California who can and will benefit from
your expertise in landscaping with drought resistant succulents/plants. I’m eager to do my part where ever I can.
