This evergreen subshrub grows 3–5 feet tall and wide, or taller with support. It has brittle, fleshy stems covered with bright green, rounded, 2-inch succulent leaves that point upward and cluster near the stem tips. In late fall and winter, it produces bright orange-yellow flowers in compact terminal clusters.
