This aloe forms a large, stemless rosette that develops into a broad, low-growing clump. Its long, gracefully twisted leaves are deeply channeled and range from yellow-green to bright green, with rusty-red edges. When grown in full sun the leaves can develop a striking red coloration, while plants grown in shade remain brighter green. In late winter to early spring, the plant produces unbranched flower spikes with yellow to orange-yellow blooms.
