Euphorbia trigona 'Rubra', commonly known as the African Milk Tree, is an upright succulent with three or four sided stems, small thorns, and reddish leaves. Its stems range from ruby-red to burgundy and become more vibrant in bright sunlight. It can grow up to 6–9 feet outdoors but stays smaller indoors. Like other spurges, it produces a toxic, milky sap that can irritate the skin and eyes.
